Weinbauer triumphs in the Prix St. Georges

The second day of the international CDI Achleiten (CDI3*) concluded with an Austrian victory on Saturday. In beautiful summer weather and under perfect conditions, Belinda Weinbauer and Diamond of Eternity GV topped the six-combination field in the FEI Prix St. Georges – Prize of Saddle me Pröpper, finishing ahead of local favourite Stefan Lehfellner.

The class marked the sporting finale of another exciting day of dressage in the picturesque Schloss Achleiten arena. Weinbauer and Diamond of Eternity GV delivered a harmonious and nearly faultless performance to earn 72.559%, securing a well-deserved victory. Stefan Lehfellner followed in second place aboard the promising stallion Zulu GV with 70.941%, while Spain's Pablo Gomez Molina and Virtual Story YMAS completed the podium on 68.823%. Honorary prizes were provided by Feichenberger, with the winner's rug donated by Outfitmacher GmbH.

"I'm very happy to be competing here in Achleiten at this beautiful venue. I think it was a very confident test. He worked brilliantly with me and was almost faultless throughout. Of course, there are always small things we can improve, but I'm incredibly proud of him. We've only been together as a combination for a relatively short time, so I'm especially pleased with how positively we're developing. I'd also like to thank Gestüt Vorwerk for giving me the opportunity to ride such a wonderful horse," said Weinbauer after her victory.

Local rider Stefan Lehfellner was also pleased with his performance despite a few minor issues. The Upper Austrian continues to regard Zulu GV as one of the most exciting young talents in his stable: "Zulu is an outstanding horse and, for me, an absolute horse for the future. Today he was simply incredibly motivated. We're deliberately training him towards Grand Prix level and have already started working on movements such as piaffe and passage. He showed his exceptional talent once again today. Even with the issues we had in the walk, scoring over 70 percent shows we're on a very good path."
