Victoria Max-Theurer's double pack

The international three-star tournament in the Achleiten Castle Park (16-18 June 2023) started on Friday with two sovereign home victories for local hero Victoria Max-Theurer. The multiple Olympic competitor scored 73.609 percentage points with Birkhof's Topas FBW in front of the top-class international panel of judges in the Grand Prix of the Special Tour after a beautiful round and prevailed sovereignly in the end. The 37-year-old rider from Upper Austria was also able to convince in the second competition with Abegglen FH NRW and also took first place in the Grand Prix of the Freestyle Tour with 75.804 percent. After their successful comeback at the beginning of June in St. Margarethen, the duo was able to seamlessly continue their performance.

"I was very happy with my two gentlemen today. I am very happy and there were many nice moments. We are happy about every day, which is so much fun and we feel like we are moving forward. Topas was almost a little fresh at the beginning, but then he was able to concentrate very well on me and showed beautiful piaffes. I am absolutely happy and hope that we can keep up the level and work consistently to get even better. These are really two great results," Victoria Max-Theurer summed up.

Victoria Max-Theurer was also in a class of her own in the second competition of the day (Grand Prix for the Freestyle Tour) and also took first place with Abegglen FH NRW and 75.804 percent. Second place went to the German rider Laura Strobel, who scored 70.261 percent with Max-Theurer's horse Valparaiso 2. Delia Eggenberger (SUI) and Fairtrade completed the international podium with 69.043 percent.

"Abbi is on a consistently high level again at the moment. I am pleased that we were able to continue our performance. For me it was a special situation again today. It has been a long time since I have ridden two Grands Prix within such a short time. It took me a moment to adjust to Abbi in my head. The successful first competition gave us a lot of tailwind. It was a super day in all respects," the multiple Olympic participant reported.
