The international four-star tournament in the castle park of Achleiten started on Friday with a victory of the national champion Christian Schumach in the Grand Prix of the freestyle tour.
The Carinthian Olympic starter scored 70.413 percentage points with his 15-year-old mare Donna Karacho in front of the top-class international panel of judges.
"My third victory here in Achleiten, my first with Donna Karacho, who is becoming more and more confident and still has enough potential," said Christian Schumach, who has been a regular guest at the international dressage show in Achleiten since 2007.
Schumach is more than satisfied with the development of his number 1. "After the long Corona break, this was now only the second Grand Prix in one and a half years. At 15, she is in her prime and she has now proven that scoring two rounds with more than 70 percent. We will continue to step on the gas."
The big goal is to qualify for the World Championships from August 6 to 14, 2022 in Herning, Denmark. "We are highly motivated and will try everything to also prove ourselves at the qualifier here in Achleiten in June (note: CDI4* from June 16 to 19) to show that we have the right to participate at the championship in Herning.”
