Max-Theurer shines in the Grand Prix Special

In the most difficult dressage test in the world, the Grand Prix Special, on Saturday afternoon there was again no getting past local hero Victoria Max-Theurer and 12-year-old Birkhof's Topas FBW. The 37-year-old showed her best side with her sports partner at the CDI3* tournament in the idyllic Schlossparkviereck at Achleiten Castle and, after the two victories the day before, took first place again with 74.489 percent.

"I'm really happy today. Topas was very happy riding into the park today, but then let himself be guided well. There are always things that we did better in training, where we were more precise and had more expression. But we had really great phases today. You can tell he felt really good. We learn from every test and currently harmonize very well together. I'm very grateful for how it all went," said Victoria Max-Theurer after the Grand Prix Special. On Sunday, the multiple Olympic participant will compete with Abegglen in the Grand Prix Freestyle to classical music: "I'm looking forward to it. We haven't ridden a freestyle for a long time. I like the music very much.”

Behind the Upper Austrian, the German Olympic champion Dorothee Schneider finished second in the Grand Prix Special with Dayman 4 (72.277 percent). Lisa Wernitznig and Quintus were rated 71.660 percent and took third place.
