Lehfellner wins with personal best score

The beginning of the second day of the CDI4* show in Achleiten was definitely a success. On Saturday morning Stefan Lehfellner and his 9-year-old gelding Flying Dancer OLD, owned by hostess Sissy Max-Theurer, superiorly won the FEI Prix St. Georges with 73.206 percent. This was also Lehfellner's personal best in this test. Second place was taken by Peter Gmoser, who received 68.441percent in this test with Don Jon OLD. Pia Gabriel completed the podium on third place with Johann Strauss and 67.206 percent.

"I am incredibly satisfied. Flying Dancer is a very inexperienced horse when it comes to the Small Tour. We recently had a good round in Munich. Today in Achleiten he was even more mature and secure. He has developed very well and is an incredible fighter in the arena and a fantastic sports partner," Lehfellner concluded and was pleased about his personal best score in the Prix St. Georges: "The best score means a lot to me. Any rider is eager to develop and get better. I'm alsp happy in the Small Tour if the score increases."

Second-placed Peter Gmoser feels that there is still a lot of potential after the test, "Today we are only somewhat satisfied. It could be better. Don Jon OLD can perform better. I misjudged the starting time and he was too hot. It's better in this category to be a bit too hot than lazy. In the Grand Prix the horses have to be lively but it is also important to keep everything under control. Don Jon is my big hope for the future."
