What a performance by Felicita Simoncic! The 20-year-old from Vienna claimed a double victory at the U25 tournament at Schloss Achleiten over the weekend – and did so with impressive confidence.
Riding Four Legends, she won not only the Intermediate II but also the U25 Grand Prix – scoring 73.154 percent, making her the only rider to break the 70-percent mark. “I’m absolutely thrilled – I went into the competition with such a positive mindset and was able to follow through completely today,” she said, beaming with joy. Two tests scoring over 72 percent? “It’s insane – I don’t even know what to say.”
Simoncic also delivered a strong performance with her second horse, Immowert’s Ivar. A score of 67.615 percentearned her second place – her very own personal double victory. Only Adrian Munoz Jurado (ESP) with Pramwaldhof’s Scubido (66.975%) joined her on the podium.
What’s especially remarkable: Simoncic appeared focused, calm, and full of trust in both rides. “I can feel that we’re really becoming a team,” she said about her Grand Prix partner Four Legends. “That gives me a real confidence boost for the challenges ahead.”
How does she juggle riding two horses? With routine – and a strong support team: “I have an amazing groom. After the first ride, I was able to come down for a moment, collect myself, and take a deep breath. That really helps.”
What will she take away from Achleiten? “Focus, trust – and the feeling that I can do it,” she says. She’s on the right track. And the next championship can come anytime.
