Caroline Häcki danced to the sounds of Bryan Adams, scoring 72.705 percent and winning the final Grand Prix Freestyle at the international four-star dressage tournament in Achleiten. The podium was completed by fellow Swiss rider Carla Aeberhard with Delioh von Buchmatt CH (71.880) and Denmark’s Mathilda Koefoed-Nielsen with Odin Unik (70.085).
“After all the mistakes yesterday, I just wanted to ride with a clear head today – and I really managed to do that. Winning at such a fantastic tournament with such excellent four-star conditions makes me incredibly happy. I’m taking this feeling with me now,” Häcki celebrated after her success.
The deliberately chosen film music from Spirit combines powerful rock ballads by Bryan Adams with epic orchestral music by Hans Zimmer, lending emotional depth and dynamism to the story – the perfect foundation for a beautiful ride. “I’m a fan of film scores – the Spirit soundtrack perfectly highlights the lightness of my horse. It inspires me and suits her fine, sensitive nature far better than heavier music.”
Florian Bacher and Fidertraum OLD had to withdraw from Saturday’s competition after a strong Grand Prix performance on Friday. “In the summer, Fidi repeatedly struggles with girth pressure, especially when it’s hot and he sweats a lot. That’s why I decided to withdraw him as a precaution after his very good performance yesterday.”
