Duracao shows potential

At the four-star event in Achleiten on Friday, the horses of hostess Elisabeth Max-Theurer shone in the young horse tours with great scores.

In the tour for seven-year-olds, Wolfgang Himsl presented the Hanoverian gelding Duracao. The duo showed an outstanding performance, scoring 76.136 percent – a clear improvement over the first show in Achleiten. Only the German rider Christoph Koschel with Imposant (77.750 percent) and Peter Gmoser with Don Jon (77.247 percent) received better scores.

“A few shortcomings in the responsiveness, overall one would have wished the horse to be a little more open in the frame. On the other hand all the changes were safe and well balanced,“ was the jury’s opinion on Duracao.

Another horse from Gestüt Vorwerk was a highlight in the tour for seven-year-olds: Caracciola, presented by Melanie Tewes (GER), was judged with 74.950. In the tour for six-year-olds, Yvonne Läne (GER) and Eyleen 20 (Gestüt Vorwerk) received great 86.000 percent.

In the tour for five-year-olds Giulia Schwab presented Faberge EP. The warmblood, winner of the 2019 Bundeschampionat, received 81.200 percent. Only Simone Pearce (AUS) with Diamond First received a better score of 84.400 percent. Martin Hauptmann and Dark Knight Rises received 80.000 percent.
