The final day of the second CDI Achleiten (CDI3*) got off to the perfect start with an Austrian home victory. On Sunday, Belinda Weinbauer and Diamond of Eternity GV claimed top honours in the FEI Intermediate I – Prize of Saddle me Pröpper Sattelanpassung – with a harmonious and expressive performance. The honorary prizes were presented by Feichtinger, while the winner’s rug was sponsored by Outfitmacher GmbH. Once again, the prize-giving ceremony with the horses in the arena, accompanied by the Austrian national anthem, provided a fitting and emotional conclusion to the class.
Weinbauer impressed the distinguished international judging panel with a confident and expressive test, earning a winning score of 71.853%. Spain’s Pablo Gomez Molina finished second aboard Virtual Story YMAS with 68.853%, while local favourite Stefan Lehfellner completed the podium in third place with the seven-year-old Zulu GV on 67.677%.
“I’m very, very happy. This horse always gives everything. We can still improve the pirouettes a little, there’s definitely room for progress there. But we’ve only been together for two months, and I’m simply grateful to have such a wonderful horse. You can rely on him one hundred percent – that’s something really special,” said Weinbauer after her victory. Over the past few weeks, she has focused on getting to know her new partner better, building his strength through hacking and targeted conditioning work. “That’s exactly the path we’ll continue to follow, improving step by step and working on the finer details.”
