Austrias dressage team was able to set a special mark at the prelude

Austria's dressage team presented itself in excellent form at the start of the World Cup qualifier at the CDI4* in Achleiten (Upper Austria). First and foremost local hero Victoria Max-Theurer with Birkhof's Topas, who won the Grand Prix of the Special Tour with 75.261 percent.

Topas did not let himself be stopped even by whirring brakes and took his second international victory in a row after the Grand Prix Special in Munich in front of the eyes of Max Theurer coach Isabell Werth. "We have a great connection," Austria's four-time Olympic participant jubilated her new 11-year-old sport partner, with whom she has competed in four national Grand Prix so far and now in her second international Grand Prix. "It was a great round, Topas was extremely motivated. The pirouettes, piaffes, passage tours were very nice and also the changes and traverses. He has so much talent, and we are getting to know each other better and better."

Max-Theurer had only words of praise for her team: "Thanks to the Casper family from Gestüt Birkhof, who always rejoice with us, to my trainer Isabell Werth and to Stefan for their support." Partner Stefan Lehfellner finished third in the Grand Prix with Roberto Carlos MT with a score of 71.848 percent. For the first time, the pair stood together on the podium at an international Grand Prix - for which they naturally also received a victory kiss.

Florian Bacher took second place with Fidertraum and finally clinched his World Cup ticket with a score of 72.63 percent: "I am very happy with the round, he was great to ride, the scores were also good. It's nice that there were so many good rounds over 70 percent and that we could show that we have a strong team for the WEG."

In addition to Renate Voglsang with Fürst Ferdinand zur Fasanenhöhe (4th place with 70.565), Christian Schumach and Donna Karacho also achieved a 70 percent round. The 70.565 percent even meant the third Achleiten victory in a row in the Grand Prix of the Freestyle Tour. "I am very happy that the mare always delivers like this. In the last eight competitions we always achieved over 70 percent. She is a reliable partner with a lot of character and spirit, her consistency is impressive and it's a pleasure to get going with her every time," the Carinthian emphasized.
