Achleiten, part 3: The summer trilogy of international dressage shows at four-star level will enter its finals from August 14 to 16. It is the 23rd international show here in the Upper Austrian Palace Garden Arena, which will again take place without an audience and under the highest Corona safety measures.
“Our safety concept worked very well the last two times. The whole team is already very familiar with the Corona rules. Now we just don't want to get sloppy and have to be highly concentrated once again in order to guarantee the safety of everyone," explained hostess Sissy Max-Theurer, who once again made "safety first" her top priority.
As at the previous CDI4* events, the field of around 20 riders and 40 horses is small but top-class.
Leading the way for the third time in a row is the number 1 in the world, Isabell Werth (51), who will bring along Emilio, currently number 7 in the FEI World Ranking.
The second Grande Dame of German equestrian sport, Dorothee Schneider (51), has announced her participation. The reigning German champion in the Grand Prix Special, who won Olympic gold together with Isabell Werth in Rio 2016 in the team event, will compete in the Grand Tours with her 14-year-old DSP Sammy Davis Jr. and with DSP Pathetique. In the Small Tour, the riding champion will present Villeneuve, the 8-year-old Vitalis son owned by Sissy Max-Theurer. The horse is a young talent with a young dressage horse vice world championship title and qualified for the German “Burgpokal“.
Speaking of world champions: The German Frederic Wandres will compete in the Grand Tour with the two-time world champion of young dressage horses (2012 5-year-olds, 2013 6-year-olds) Sa Coeur, now 13 years old.
Austria's team is again led by Victoria Max-Theurer (35) with her two top horses Abegglen FH NRW and Rockabilly. "I am already looking forward to part 3 of our show. Things are going pretty fast for the third time, because we have already been able to practice twice," joked the four-time Olympic participant. More Austrians in Achleiten: Astrid Neumayer (Upper Austria/participating in the Young Horse Tour), Stefan Lehfellner (Upper Austria), Oliver Valenta (Lower Austria), Timna Zach (Styria), Luise Wessely-Trupp (Lower Austria), Evelyn Haim-Swarovski (Tyrol), Bettina Kendlbacher (Styria, Young Horse Tour) and Wolfgang Himsl (Upper Austria/Young Horse Tour).
