Brötzner completes winning double

The FEI Junior Individual at the CDI4* in Achleiten provided the next exciting chapter in the youth competitions. Sabrina Brötzner celebrated her second victory of the weekend, narrowly securing the win aboard Bernini VMT, a horse owned by multiple Olympic dressage rider Victoria Max-Theurer.

With a score of 68.588%, Brötzner finished ahead of Alessia Weyler and Ferrero Noir (68.471%) and Anna Bruckberger with Quaters Diamond (68.000%). The result was extremely close, with only small margins separating the top combinations.

The winning test was not entirely without mistakes. “I had a small error, but overall he was really on form today,” Brötzner said after her ride. “Boris” showed particular quality in the trot and walk work, while there was still some room for improvement in the canter. “Overall, I’m very satisfied and really happy. After winning yesterday, I felt a bit more pressure today because, of course, you want to be at the top again,” explained the Salzburg-based rider.

One of the key lessons Brötzner takes away from the weekend is the value of training away from home. “Competing and training in different environments helps us a lot. My horse learns from every change of venue, and it also helps me stay calm when he gets a little tense in the arena. The most important thing is to keep riding and stay relaxed,” she said.
